Galaxy S8 prices leaked: will it break the bank though?
We already know a lot about the Samsung Galaxy S8 phones, thanks in large part due to recent leaks. Now, another leak has occurred, in the form of pricing for the device…
According to the ever-reliable Evan Blass, the Galaxy S8 will have a €799 price tag and the Galaxy S8+ will feature a €899 price. Do an ill-advised currency conversion (other costs still have to be taken into account), and you’re looking at R10 906 for the S8 and R12 271 for the S8+.
Don’t expect Xiaomi pricing for the upcoming Galaxy S8, according to the latest information
In other words, you can reasonably expect the South African prices to be even higher, then.
Blass adds that a new Gear360 will have a €229 price tag, while the GearVR will have a €129 price. Interestingly enough, Blass also confirmed the existence of “DeX”, apparently available for €150.
S8 – 799€
S8+ – 899€
DeX – 150€
GearVR – 129€
Gear360 – 229€ https://t.co/vVm6DRMkX5— Evan Blass (@evleaks) March 19, 2017
It’s believed that DeX is the docking station for the Galaxy S8 (DeX apparently means “Desktop eXperience”), delivering a PC-like experience when docked to an external screen. The feature brings to mind Microsoft’s Continuum for Phones feature on Windows 10 Mobile.
Otherwise, there are loads of leaked specs out there right now, ranging from 1000fps video to the Exynos 8895 chip, but we’ll know the full story on 29 March.
