What should you pay for a laptop on Gumtree?
We’ve already seen Gumtree offer a smartphone and car price checker. So a laptop price checker seems like the next obvious step, right? Well, the company has done just that.
The laptop price checker tool allows users to figure out whether they’re being sold short or getting a great deal. Simply specify a brand and model, with the tool then spitting out a price.
The company has also revealed the most popular brands on the service, as well as the cheapest and most expensive.
“The three most popular models currently listed on Gumtree are the Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad, and Acer Aspire,” Gumtree wrote in a press release to Gearburn.
“The two cheapest models on average are the Acer Aspire and the Dell Vostro at around R3200. The most expensive are the Apple MacBook and Dell Latitude which fetch around R5500.”
Interestingly enough, Gumtree SA marketing head Claire Cobbledick says laptop ads get ” twice as many responses as any other electronic device”.
