The Nintendo Switch is enjoying very healthy sales, thanks to the likes of Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart. However, it’s not a perfect console, with the biggest complaint being the barebones nature of it all.

Nevertheless, Nintendo is hard at work on crafting system updates, with the latest version 3.0 update being pushed out last night. So what does it bring to the table?

For starters, you can now get news for specific games (news>find channels), add friends from your Wii U and 3DS friend lists (my page>friend suggestions) and get alerts when your friends go online/offline (system settings>notifications>friend notifications).

The Nintendo Switch has been updated with a host of small yet nifty features

Other features include finding paired controllers that might be lost (controllers>find controllers), changing the user icon order (system settings>users>change order) and changing system volume from quick settings (hold down the home button to access quick settings).

Is docking the console causing your TV’s HDMI input to change? Nintendo says the Switch update features “improvements” in this regard.

Now, about bringing apps, like YouTube and a web browser, to the hybrid console…

Check out the full rundown of changes on Nintendo’s website.
