The LG V30 is poised to be a huge upgrade over the V20, offering a water-resistant design, much-improved camera setup and more.

LG South Africa has confirmed on its website that we’ll be getting the LG V30+ (which doubles the storage to 128GB) in November.

But what about pricing? Expect a prepaid tag of R15 499, a Cellucity representative told Gearburn in response to a query. The representative added that the smartphone would be launched on 7 November.

When asked to corroborate the price, LG South Africa told Gearburn that the V30+ retail price starts “from R15 469”. However, the Korean brand also revealed a notable perk for Vodacom and MTN customers.

The LG V30+ will go toe-to-toe with the Galaxy S8 when it comes to the all-important price tag

Consumers purchasing from Vodacom would receive a free LG Stylus 3 handset, valued at R4379. Meanwhile, MTN customers will receive a free LG K10 2017, valued at R3349.

The LG V30+ packs a Snapdragon 835 chipset, 4GB of RAM and a 3300mAh battery. But the phone stands out thanks to its dual-camera setup, offering a 16MP f/1.6 main camera and a 13MP f/1.9 wide-angle shooter (a 5MP snapper sits on the front).

The phone also packs a host of photo and video features, such as Cine Effect for video colour effects, Point Zoom for smooth video zooming, Graphy to duplicate camera settings from a given photo and the ability to shoot in Log format. And yes, the quad-DAC audio hardware for high-quality playback and recording is back once again.

Other noteworthy specs include IP68 water/dust resistance, a 2880×1440 6-inch display (18:9 ratio) and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.
