South Africans won’t have to endure a long wait to get their hands on the Xbox One X, as Microsoft plans to bring the console to the country in December.

Now, the likes of Raru and Takealot have started taking preorders for the new console, with both noting that there’s “very limited stock” available.

“The Xbox One X 1TB Console release date is set for 22 December 2017 but is of course subject to change,” reads an excerpt of Raru’s preorder page.

The 22 December date is corroborated by Takealot’s preorder page, also adding that the preorder price (R7499) is down from R7999.

BT Games has also started taking preorders for the console, albeit via the website. The retailer requires consumers to slap down R1000 within 48 hours of preordering in order to reserve the order.

Over 130 games have been confirmed as enhanced for Xbox One X, including Forza Motorsport 7, The Witcher 3, Doom and Sea of Thieves.
