Microsoft has been working on Windows 10 ARM for a while now, bringing the desktop operating system to mobile-focused chips as well. It’s also chosen Qualcomm as its partner, with the US chip colossus expected to power a variety of Windows 10 devices.

Now, HP’s website (via Gizmochina) has revealed a Windows 10 ARM computer, packing a Snapdragon 835 processor, at least if the “SD835” line is anything to go by.

The page also seems to list 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. This puts it in line with ultrabooks, then.

ARM chips are expected to provide quite an endurance boost over x86 processors, having been optimised from the ground-up for mobile devices. In fact, Qualcomm is claiming “beyond all-day” battery life, suggesting up to 20 hours of usage. It certainly sounds optimistic, but here’s hoping it’s accurate.

Another, possibly bigger question mark, is performance. It’s clear that the Snapdragon 835 won’t reach the giddy heights of Intel’s high-end Core series, but will it be comparable to a Celeron or Atom chip?

We haven’t heard much in this regard so, unless you need great battery life above all else, you might want to wait for hands-on time before committing to a Snapdragon 835 laptop.
