The new Kindle Paperwhite will let you read ebooks in the bath

Amazon has revealed its latest Kindle Paperwhite, and it’s waterproof.

That’s the biggest takeaway from the 6.0 inch screen device.

“Paperwhite is IPX8 rated to protect against accidental immersion in up to two meters of fresh water for up to 60 minutes,” the company explained on its website.

This means you can now take Paperwhite to the beach or bath without worrying too much about getting it wet.

The e-reader also has audio book service Audible built-in, so you can listen to audio books or switch between reading and listening at your leisure via Bluetooth headsets.

Coming in at 182g for the Wi-Fi enabled version, the new Paperwhite is the lightest model thus far. Its battery is also set to last for up to six weeks depending on your daily usage and screen brightness.

8GB and 32GB storage options are available, in addition to a 4G and WiFi variant, alongside a WiFi-only model.

The Paperwhite is only available in a black finish, is now available for pre-order on Amazon and costs US$129.99. It will ship on 7 November 2018.
