Samsung Galaxy M series to launch in India on 28 January
You’re probably familiar with Samsung’s flagship S series, it’s larger Note series, and even possibly its A series (above) of mid-range devices. But now, the Korean company is adding a brand new letter to its lineup.
Dubbed the Galaxy M series, this trio of new lower-mid-range Samsung devices is set to launch in India later this month, taking on the likes of Oppo, Vivo and Xiaomi.
According to prior leaks, all three phones will sport similar designs, with a waterdrop notch up front, relatively skinny bezels, rear-mounted fingerprint readers, and large batteries.
The Galaxy M10 is the smallest of the three, featuring an Exynos 7870 chipset with 3GB of RAM, a choice of 16GB or 32GB of internal storage, a 13MP rear camera, and 6.0 inch screen.
The M20 is set to feature a much larger battery at 5000mAh and larger screen.
The M30 could flaunt a triple camera setup at the rear, a 6.3 inch screen, and the same 5000mAh battery.
These specs are not set in stone just yet, but according to a Reuters report, one thing is certain: Samsung won’t be courting brick and mortar stores or networks to punt its new Galaxy line. It will instead take on the likes of Xiaomi’s RealMe in the online space. It’s phones will only be available on its own store and Amazon.
As for pricing, the lineup will begin at $140 for the M10, while the M20 will be around double the price. There’s no word on the M30’s pricing just yet.
There are plans for a global rollout, but it’s not clear when that will commense.
