Sony, Microsoft team up to develop ‘highly intuitive’ cloud-based gaming services

Sony and Microsoft revealed on Thursday that the two companies are partnering to explore “new innovations to enhance customer experiences in their direct-to-consumer entertainment platforms”.
This means that both leading gaming brands will work together on developing their cloud-based gaming services.
“As part of the memorandum of understanding, Sony and Microsoft will also explore collaboration in the areas of semiconductors and AI,” said Microsoft in a statement.
The companies intend to merge their respective technologies in the form of Sony’s image sensors, Google’s Azure AI and various customer product tools to create “highly intuitive and user-friendly AI experiences”.
The companies have not yet revealed what this could potentially mean for the future of Xbox and PlayStation.
