Huawei Watch GT 2 will launch in South Africa for R4999
Huawei might not be bringing the Mate 30 series to South Africa just yet, but its other products are coming in hot and fast.
On Tuesday, the company announced that the Huawei Watch GT 2, the sequel to the GT, will be available in the country this month.
The Watch GT 2 features a 1.39-inch OLED display for the 46mm model, and 1.2-inch OLED for the 42mm model.
The larger watch features a larger battery at 455mAh, while the 42mm model settles for a 215mAh. Huawei believes that the larger watch is good for two weeks between charges.
Both devices are water resistant up to 50 metres, feature Bluetooth 5.1 LE support, GPS support, and 4GB of internal storage for music. They’re powered by the Huawei Kirin A1 chipset and run Huawei’s LiteOS.
They also support Huawei’s sports tracking software, which is compatible with 15 activities, including running, cycling, swimming and rowing.
Sleep tracking’s also supported.
The Huawei Watch GT 2 will be available in South Africa from 17 October for R4999 (that’s for the 46mm model).
A preorder special begins on 7 October and runs until the official launch date, which includes a pair of FreeLace earbuds.
