Xbox Series S: price announced for South Africa
In a surprise move, Xbox South Africa has announced the local price for the Xbox Series S — despite the console’s existence only being confirmed yesterday.
The Xbox Series S is a next-gen console that will also be the smallest Xbox ever.
The company confirmed the existence of the series on 8 September after publications reported on a series of leaks. The confirmation included the global price for the console.
However, on 9 September, Xbox South Africa also confirmed the local pricing for the console.
In South Africa, the recommended retail price for the Xbox Series S will be R6 999.

However, there’s no word yet on the Xbox Series X’s pricing or when the consoles will launch locally.

Following its confirmation of the console, the Xbox global Twitter account shared additional details on the console.

This includes a launch trailer for the console.
The Xbox Series S will include a 512GB NVME SSD and support framerates of up to 120FPS. The console will also be digital-only.
As a result of the lack of a disk drive, the console is also nearly 60% smaller than its next-gen counterpart, the Xbox Series X.
