Xbox Series X and S stock slightly delayed in South Africa

The local distributors for Xbox in South Africa, Prima Interactive, have announced that some stores may receive their stock of the Xbox Series X and Series S slightly late.

The announcement was made on Prima Interactive’s social pages, as well as through a statement sent to media.

“Due to some unforeseen logistical challenges, some stores in South Africa may receive their stock of the new Xbox Series X and Series S on Launch Day or possibly a day late,” the statement says.

However, the distributor assures consumers that the stock will arrive and that all pre-orders will be met.

Stock has already been shipped to stores, according to Prima, but may only arrive on launch day (or one day after).

“We can confirm that all pre-orders will be met and your Xbox has been shipped to the store you ordered it from,” Prima Interactive says.

“If you haven’t received notification that it’s ready for collection or been shipped, please check with the store you ordered at for an update.”

The distributor also noted that stock had not been shipped sooner due to global embargoes on product releases like this.

“There is a very small window to get the stock out to stores, and sometimes despite the best plans, delays occur,” the company says.

The consoles launch in South Africa on 10 November — alongside the global release.

The Xbox Series X will retail for R11 999. Meanwhile, the Xbox Series S will cost R6 999.
