Nokia 8.3: Nokia 5G smartphone launches in SA – price and details
Nokia’s much-anticipated 5G smartphone — the Nokia 8.3 5G — has launched in South Africa. The phone, announced in March 2o2o, is marketed as a truly global 5G smartphone due to its coverage of so many 5G bands.
“The Nokia 8.3 5G will always be ready for what’s next, covering the highest number of 5G New Radio bands yet, ready for both standalone and non-standalone 5G network deployment combinations that operators around the globe are rolling out,” HMD Global said in a press release.
“This ensures more people can enjoy the fast, reliable connectivity of 5G for streaming and gaming wherever they are.”
HMD also aims to offer a premium smartphone and 5G experience at a more affordable price point with the product.
The Nokia 8.3 comes with the Qualcomm 765G 5G Modular Platform and a high-resolution Zeiss quad-camera setup.

The smartphone will also be available on contract from Vodacom, Cellucity, and 4U. Contract prices will start from R499.
