Oppo has announced its latest smartphone to launch in South Africa, the Oppo Reno 5, along with a price for the device.

While the smartphone company has focused on bringing its entry-level devices to the local market, the Reno 5 marks a more high-end entry to the local Oppo range.

What to know about the smartphone

The smartphone comes with 5G support, a 6.44-inch OLED display with a 90Hz refresh rate, and a hefty 8GB of RAM.

Meanwhile, those that enjoy fast charging should know that the phone is considered one of the fastest charging smartphones in SA. According to Oppo, it can go from 0% to 100% charge in 36 minutes.

“The Reno 5 is our most ambitious smartphone model yet. Offering ultra-fast, ultra-powerful connectivity and high-end technology that works. It incorporates world-class updates into a usable device that upgrades the consumer’s daily digital efficiencies, while using humanable technology that improves everyday connection to each other, especially during these uncertain times,” Liam Fourie, Head of Got-to-Market and Operations at Oppo South Africa, said in a statement.
