Lenovo reveals three next-gen ThinkPad notebooks – Price and details
Lenovo has revealed next-generation versions of its ThinkPad P Series workstation notebooks, all three of which will be available in South Africa.
The new notebooks include the ThinkPad P1 and ThinkPads P15 and P17.
Built for productivity and work-related use, the notebooks feature high levels of performance thanks to 11th-gen Intel Core and Xeon processors.
Lenovo ThinkPad P1
The fourth generation of the ThinkPad P1 has a 16-inch UHD+ display that features low-blue light technology and thin bezels. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio.
In addition to the Intel CPU, the notebook comes equipped with either an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX A5000 graphics card.
In addition, the notebook has a larger touchpad and battery than the previous generation as well as a redesigned keyboard.
Additional features include 5G connectivity, a Full HD front camera, and a Dolby Atmos speaker system.
Lenovo ThinkPad P15 and P17
The second generations of the P15 and P17 feature similar specs to the P1. They come with either an Nvidia RTX 3080 or RTX A5000 GPU and can support fourth-generation PCle SSD hard drives.
The P15 features a 15.6-inch UHD OLED display while the P17 offers a 17.3-inch display. The P17 has the largest display fitted to any Lenovo workstation.
Pricing and availability
The Lenovo ThinkPad P1 will be available in South Africa from the end of July 2021. Prices for the notebook start at R34 999.
The ThinkPad P15 and P17 will be available from mid-August. Prices for the P15 will start from R29 999 while the P17 will start at R32 999.
