You can now buy a UPS with a Telkom contract
Telkom has updated its home fibre, LTE, and DSL deals to allow consumers to buy an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) by adding it to their contract.
The deals come in the wake of increased loadshedding risk during winter and repeated bouts of power cuts in June.
Telkom now offers these devices under its accessory deals.
“Customers can also add a UPS to any fibre or DSL deal and selected SmartBroadband deals in order to stay connected throughout load-shedding from R41,” the company said in a press release about its winter deals.
However, the selection is currently very limited — featuring two devices.
The UPS devices Telkom has listed in its catalogue include:
- JKL Telesource B600 13200 mAh Mini In-Line UPS + Splitter: R41pm x 24
- VIZIA WiFi UPS 57 000 mWh 5/9/12V: R48pm x 24
These can be added to any fibre, SmartBroadband, or DSL deal, according to the company.
You can find out more on the Telkom Home website.
Locals can also turn to online retailers and electronics suppliers to buy a UPS. While Telkom offers low-capacity devices, depending on your needs, you can opt for devices that can support more intensive electronics.
