Tecno Camon 17P available in South Africa: price and details
Tecno has announced the launch of its affordable Camon 17P smartphone in South Africa
The phone became available on local shores on 21 October, following hot on the heels of the launch of its Spark 7 range locally.
The device is marketed towards those looking for a capable camera on their smartphone, with a price under R5000.
The Camon 17P includes a 64MP quad main camera on the rear, along with a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
The company highlights the phone’s selfie camera in particular, calling it the world’s clearest selfie camera.
Tecno even launched a documentary called The Rise of The Selfie to coincide with the phone’s global launch.
“In developing our smartphones, we pay special attention to camera features since selfies have become such an important part of millennial and GenZ users’ online identities,” Tecno Chief Marketing Officer Danni Xu said in a statement.
The Camon 17P includes software that allows users to adjust the selfie camera’s beauty mode according to their preferences, rather than having a pre-determined beauty mode.
