Instax Mini Evo hybrid camera landing in South Africa: Here’s its local price
Fujifilm South Africa has announced that the new flagship Instax Mini Evo hybrid instant film camera will arrive in South Africa this week, along with its local price.
The camera was announced in mid-November and aims to provide “a premium hybrid camera meant for those who’ve ever wished for an Instax that can do more”.
Hybrid cameras from Instax incorporate the features of their normal instant film cameras, but also their printer devices like the new Instax Link Wide.
This means that users can choose to take a snapshot of their surroundings or print an existing image from their smartphone.
You can also select and edit images you’ve captured using the camera before printing. This is thanks to the built-in three-inch LCD monitor on the device.
You can use this monitor to frame your shots, as well as apply over 100 different shooting effects to your images. The camera has enough on-board storage for 45 images, as well as a slot for an optional microSD card.
In terms of its design, the camera evokes the aesthetic of classic film cameras, similar to the Instax Mini 40 it launched locally earlier this year. It even includes a print lever on the back resembling a film advance lever that you find on 35mm film cameras.
The camera is compatible with Instax Mini film packs, however, Fujifilm notes that it provides better resolution for prints when compared to previous models.
