Call of Duty: WWII details leak ahead of livestream
Activision-Blizzard may have confirmed the Call of Duty: WWII name and setting, but it’s choosing to leave the rest of the details to a livestream tomorrow (26 April).
Now, Charlie Intel has uncovered a slew of details, including marketing materials, a release date and more. Which battlefields will be covered in this entry, then?
“Call of Duty returns to its roots with Call of Duty: WWII — a breathtaking experience that redefines World War II for a new gaming generation. Land in Normandy on D-Day and battle across Europe through iconic locations in history’s most monumental war,” reads a supposedly leaked description.
“Experience classic Call of Duty combat, the bonds of camaraderie, and the unforgiving nature of war against a global power throwing the world into tyranny.”
The D-Day landings have been done many times before, with Medal of Honor: Frontline, Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty and Call of Duty 2 all having some variation on it. Here’s hoping we see something fresh otherwise.
Call of Duty: WWII returns to the beaches of Normandy, but how will it make this umpteenth take stand out from prior games?
The popular multiplayer suite seems to be back in this iteration though.
“Call of Duty: WWII multiplayer engages players grounded, fast-paced combat across many of World War II’s most iconic locations. Players will also enjoy exciting new ways to interact and socialise with their friends and the Call of Duty community.”
Don’t care for competitive multiplayer? Then it’s claimed that a cooperative mode is in the game, complete with a “new and original story”.
It’s believed that Call of Duty: WWII storms the beaches on 3 November 2017.
