The Huawei P40 Pro could have seven cameras in total
The Huawei P40 Pro won’t just be a “New Edition” P30 Pro, this after details of the phone was posted by Venturebeat writer Evan Blass.
Blass tweeted renders of the phone, which features a mammoth camera bump at the rear housing a total of five cameras.
Honestly, it’s huge. You’d have no problem landing a plane on it.
On closer inspection, it seems that at least one of the cameras will be a periscope zoom lens, a welcome return.
Sensor sizes and other camera hardware is yet undetermined, but don’t be too surprised to see a macro lens and wide angle lens.
Up front, there’s no notch. That’s another welcome exclusion. There also seems to be at least two camera sensors up front, which could be a wide-angle selfie and regular selfie snapper.
So, in total, seven cameras for the P40 Pro if Blass is to be believed.
Other features include the lack of a headphone jack, USB-C for data and charging, and what seems to be physical buttons on the right hand side frame for volume and power.
Two colours are on show too — white and black — but we doubt Huawei would resist the urge to also launch a more colourful variant.
While the camera hardware is exciting, there’s a good chance the phone will launch without Google services, making it a tough sell for Western audiences.
That said, the lack of Google support didn’t stop the maker from selling 240-million devices globally in 2019.
