Schools get $99 Chromebooks brimming with holiday spirit
For US$99, Google’s now offering the Chromebook to qualifying schools. All teachers need do is visit Google’s Chromebook store and request the Samsung Series 5.
Google’s working with US-based DonorsChoose.org, an online donations system that let’s donors finance the Chromebooks for public schools. In order to qualify, teachers will need to visit this site and fill in their details. Up to 30 Chromebooks for US$99 can be brought. There’s been “tremendous response” so act now, says Google.
Sticking a Chromebook in the classroom environment, especially at this price-point is ideal. Chromebooks, if you remember are the cloud-based laptops that are useless without an internet connection. For US$99, it’s cheaper than most notebooks and far cheaper than an iPad. So teachers in the US, sign up and see if you qualify. It’s for the children after all.
