iStore Card programme ensures South Africans ‘can get a new iPhone every year’
One of the principle Apple resellers in the country, iStore South Africa, has announced a new initiative to ensure those hardcore Apple fans will always have the latest device whenever a new phone leaves Cupertino’s design table.
Dubbed the iStore Card programme, the system allows users to get the latest iPhone each year for a predetermined price per month.
“You can now get the latest iPhone every year through a monthly payment plan separate from your cellular network,” the press release reads. “The payment plan is facilitated through iStore’s brand new credit card – iStore Card.”
Those interested in the iStore Card programme will need to fork out at least R549 per month for 24 months, but will receive a new iPhone after the current device is traded in. iStore also notes that SIM-only contracts or prepaid SIMS can be taken out or bought separately with the cellular network of the users’ choice.
The reason for the iStore Card is fairly simple, as the press release explains:
Over the years we’ve seen a trend where a new iPhone gets introduced every year. But, contracts offered for handsets from providers span two years, and we know how frustrating it is when you have to wait to get your hands on something you want.
