One of the latest games out on Xbox this week is Screencheat. This split-screen first-person shooter harkens back to the days couch-based multiplayer. One of the game’s ‘features’ is the ability to look at the other players’ screens and cheat, which is reminiscent of Quake 2 on the original PlayStation. It’s a title full of ridiculousness weapons and leaves and is sure to be played in university housing around the world, but will it be able to knock out the current university darling, Rocket League? Screencheat is on sale for a limited time for R119.20.
Trackmania, the game every car fan has been wanting for years, is finally making its way to the Xbox One. Titled Trackmania Turbo, this arcade racer features a range of outlandish tracks, split-screen modes, and four different environments for players to crash around, and over 200 tracks. This edition will include Double Driver mode where two players will control one can with different controllers. As always, Trackmania will have its track builder mode for those budding architects. It’s available for pre-order now on Xbox.com for R549, and will be released on 24 March.
Everyone’s favourite no-barres hold bloody fighting game is getting a special edition. Mortal Kombat X is being re-released and re-branded as Mortal Kombat XL. This ‘game of the year’ edition will include all of the previous DLC for X, such as Leatherface character, Klassic Fatalities, and the cyborg ninjas. The game is selling for R749, which isn’t bad for all of the additional content.
