Opel’s chunky sneaker-style Adam Rocks set for Geneva debut [gallery]

Meet the Opel Adam Rocks. It’s kind of cute right? Well, that’s what the photos suggest anyway. For an accurate idea of what the chunkier, “tougher” version of Opel’s Adam looks like, we’ll have to wait until the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Alongside a higher ride, the Adam Rocks an electrically operated, retracting, Swing Top canvas roof as standard and a fair amount of tech.

Inside, this includes Opel’s IntelliLink system which, in theory, should play just as well with Android smartphones as it does with iPhones. Connectivity with the latter means that the Adam Rocks drivers with iPhones can make use of Siri Eyes Free voice control. This makes it possible, for instance, for drivers to have incoming SMS read aloud and to dictate SMS while they keep their eyes on the road and their hands on the steering wheel.

There’s also USB and Bluetooth connectivity, audio streaming, a 7-inch high-definition color touch-screen and seven speakers.

Powering this little brawler meanwhile is a 1.0-liter ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo engine with a choice of two power ratings: 66 kW/90 bhp and 85 kW/115 bhp.

Opel also claims that the Adam Rocks isn’t all that thirsty with fuel consumption as low as 4.3 l/100 km.
