Volvo takes on Koenigsegg in latest truck video
Volvo’s truck division has been on something of a marketing blitz in the last little while. If getting Jean Claude van Damme to do the splits between two of its trucks, and getting a rookie valet driver to park one of them weren’t enough, the Swedish car maker has now decided to take on the might of the Koenigsegg One:1 with one of its FH trucks.
The rationale for doing so is pretty simple: like the Koenigsegg, the Volvo FH features a dual clutch gearbox. According to Volvo rationale that means that the FH is a sportscar underneath the hood. See, perfectly sound logic.
In order to prove its point, Volvo put Fifth Gear presenter Tiff Nedell behind the wheel of the FH and got him to race it against the One:1. To be fair though, the Volvo FH received a minor handicap == the truck would drive one lap of the racetrack while the Koenigsegg drove two.

If nothing else, the video is worth watching for the chance to see the One:1 in action.
