Red Bull gets a bit cowboyish as it shows off its Dakar chops

Red Bull doesn’t do anything at walking pace. Case in point: the latest video for its Dakar Rally racing operations.

With the world’s most famous desert rally now under a month away, the Austrian company has released a video comparing its motorbike, car and truck off-road operations with the Gardians — a group of cattle herders in the South of France who look like they belong in the Wild West.

In the video, motorcyclists Marc Coma, Helder Rodrigues, Sam Sunderland and Matthias Walkner take on the role of the Gardians as they try to chase down Stéphane Peterhansel, Carlos Sainz and Cyril Despres — playing the part of a rogue bull — in the Peugeot 2008 DKR.

The action takes place through the saltmarshes and beaches of the Camargue. The area is renowned for being one of the few places in Europe where you can find the pink flamingo and, more importantly for Dakar racers, its monster salt hills which make perfect play areas for Dakar racers.

Oh and if you’re a truck fan, look out for the Kamaz Master Team truck at around 3:30.
