Merc’s new S-Class Cabrio harks back to 60s models

Mercedes Benz has announced the launch of its new S-Class Cabriolet, marking the first open-top version of its top-end passenger car in decades.

The Stuttgart-based auto giant hasn’t given us much information on the new S-Class cabrio, which is set to launch during the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show, other than to say that it follows in the tradition of its previous open top cars.

According to press release from Merc, the “new S-Class Cabriolet Mercedes-Benz is setting itself the standard of building the most comfortable cabriolet in the world”.

A large part of that comes in the form of climate comfort in the shape of the automatic wind protection system AIRCAP, the AIRSCARF neck-level heating system, heated armrests, the seat heating also in the rear.

“After 44 years we can again offer friends of our company an open variant of the S‑Class. The new S-Class Cabriolet symbolises our passion for individual and timelessly exclusive mobility, which we share with our customers”, remarks Ola Källenius, Board Member of Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz Cars Sales.

Expect full details of the car to come out at the show.
