Apple iPhone SE available to preorder in SA from R8999
Desperate to get your iPhone SE? Digicape — one of Apple’s premium resellers in South Africa — has announced that users can now preorder the iPhone SE.
The phone, which was launched late March, boasts a combination of iPhone 6S and iPhone 5S internals, in the form factor of the latter. It appeals to those reluctant to upgrade to Apple’s larger iPhone 6 series, but even though it measures just 4.0-inches from screen corner to corner, it’ll still leave quite a hole in prospective buyers’ pockets.
Digicape is pricing the 16GB version at R8999, while the 64GB version will fetch a cool R10 999.
That’s perilously close to some of the iPhone 6S’s rivals. And as for the iPhone 6S? You can get one of those for R12 999 at the time of writing.
Recent studies suggest that Apple requires just US$160 (around R2500) to make each iPhone SE, so the profit margins here are quite astounding.
