Facebook gets a little Twitter integration
Ever get annoyed with people who share the same updates on Facebook and Twitter? Or maybe you’ve set up your tweets to go out as status updates and you just wish it worked a little more seamlessly.
Well now it looks like Twitter just got a little closer to the big F. According to The Next Web tweets that appear as Facebook status updates will now carry links to hashtags and user handles.
Neither company has made any official announcements regarding the integration. The Next Web did however manage to get hold of a Twitter representative who said that the company was working very closely on how posts made on it appear on Facebook:
We have fixed many issues with the Twitter for Facebook integration, including the ability to post to Facebook Pages, and added some new features.
The updated Twitter for Facebook integration now includes additional rich media experiences related to the first photo, URL, @mention or #hashtag in the cross-posted Tweet.
The ability to post to pages will be of especially great interest to anyone who has to manage a large social media feed.
The news probably doesn’t affect anyone who views the two platforms as useful for distinct and separate purposes. Anyone who likes to manage their social media from one place is likely to be pleased.
Anyone wanting to take advantage of the new features has to go to their Twitter profile settings page and disconnect and reconnect the two accounts.
