What do you get when you combine the next big social media IPO with a title set to have fans of role-playing games grimacing in frustration and add in one of Africa’s most prominent meetings of thoughtleaders and entrepreneurs? The latest episode of Burning Hot.

In this week’s wrap up of the big news in tech, Stuart Thomas shines some light on Twitter’s bid to go public, and the information revealed by its filing with the US’s Securities and Exchange Commission. Along with some updated user numbers (yep, 215-million users log in to Twitter every month), the filing also reveals some insight into Twitter’s self-confessed weaknesses — like its heavy dependence on advertisers in the US and how badly it needs all those celebs to keep tweeting. Oh, and that it also doesn’t make a profit… yet.

On Gearburn, Ray Whitcher previews Dark Souls II, the follow up to the infamously difficult game that leaves you dead on the floor more often than you’d like. Ventureburn also put together an overview of the Africa Entrepreneurship Summit, held recently in Mauritius, which aimed to put together an action plan to make sure innovation on the continent is encouraged and supported, so that Africa can continue its rise on the world stage.
