Tinder introduces Instagram integration and more common friends
Tinder received an update that integrates its users directly with Instagram and revamps common connections. This allows users to scroll through the Instagram profiles of other users without leaving the app. Before, users could only scroll through the Facebook photos that users have allowed to show up on their Tinder profile and had to search for users’ Instagram accounts on Instagram.
Users can now click into a user’s Instagram profile and see the most recent pictures, with the option to click directly into their profile, check out the comments on the photos, who liked it, and more details. And users with private Instagram accounts, Tinder gives them an option to grant it access, which makes ones Instagram account pubic only on Tinder and not anywhere else.
This feature gives a user a better chance of familiarising themselves with a potential match, to see if they have taken a holiday lately, what they wore on someday (in not a creepy way), and getting a sense of who they are beyond the Tinder bio thus providing plenty options for those awkward first words after the greetings.
To set up the update “select ‘edit’ and choose ‘Connect Instagram.’ Confirm your Instagram username and password, and you’re set — your Tinder profile will automatically start displaying your recent Instagram photos.” Tinder says.
Tinder also updated common connections, essentially enabling users to have far more close connections with more similarities. Now users can see the mutual friends and friends of friends they have in common with their potential matches.
