Hisense opens new headquarters in Cape Town, strengthens ties in SA
Chinese device manufacturer Hisense has been leading something of a charge into the South African market of late. Back in 2013, it opened its new manufacturing plant in Atlantis, a 40km journey outside Cape Town which will see the production of televisions and smartphones, to name but a few devices. Now, the company is looking to further sink its roots in African soil and has opened its African headquarters in the city.
The new office will be located in Century City, in the northern suburbs of Cape Town, and will also host the company’s showroom, which will display hardware from smart TVs to smartphones and everything in between.
The move is especially exciting for the South Africa economy, which essentially means “increased sales and production, necessitating even greater job creation,” notes the presser.
Of course, locally manufactured products also have advantages for local consumers, with import costs and taxation largely negated. It also marks exciting times for the South African-Chinese business relationship, with investors flocking to Africa from seemingly all areas of the globe.
The new headquarters and manufacturing plant goes hand in hand with Hisense’s other commitments, including an export division currently catering for 10 additional African countries.
