Table Mountain Cableway now boasts a WiFi Lounge at the summit of Cape Town
Table Mountain undoubtedly has an unrivaled view from its summit, but now visitors to the top of the Cableway will soon be able to access the internet too.
The new Table Mountain Cableway Wifi Lounge now allows users to “get connected in the clouds above the Mother City,” providing internet access to those who just can’t not post a Cape Town selfie on their adventure.
Situated on the Upper Cableway Station, the Lounge features plug and USB ports for device charging, comfortable chairs and of course, wireless internet.
“Through the launch of the Wi-Fi Lounge the Cableway is able to remain a relevant tourist attraction in a world where technology is an ever-present factor within travel,” the Cableway’s MD Sabine Lehmann explains.
“With our Wi-Fi Lounge offering, we are able to further diversify and better the visitor experience in its entirety. Our team has gone to every effort to ensure we are able to provide visitors with a comfortable new space to enjoy above the Mother City, be it to quickly connect, share a few pictures or settle down and stay a while.”
The Lounge will open officially on 3 May, and will also sell snacks and drinks for peckish guests. The Cableway however notes that operation is strictly weather permitting, so plan a visit on a bright, sunny and possibly windless day.
