According to Disney South Africa, the flick made R73-million locally, with more than 870 000 attendances at cinemas across the country.

Notably, the film has also done extremely well in West and East, Disney South Africa states.

“Avengers: Infinity War has also raked in a total of Kes 66.9m in East Africa, making it the 2nd highest grossing film of all time behind Black Panther,” the company writes in a press release.

“Similarly, in West Africa, the film hit N450m at the box office, making it the 2nd highest grossing international film of all time, also behind Black Panther.”

Speaking of Black Panther, the film remains South Africa’s biggest grossing flick ever, and the only one to ever break the R100-million barrier.

It made R107.5-million locally, with more than 1.43-million attendances logged.
