Twitter now lets you add GIFs, video and photos to retweets

Twitter on Monday revealed that users can now retweet using GIFs, videos and photos on the platform.

This means that when you retweet a post on the platform, you will be able to add a GIF, photo or video to your post.

According to Twitter, the feature originally ran the risk of creating clutter on the platform.

“These changes impacted the Tweet detail page and timelines so we accommodated design and functionality nuances across each of those areas,” the company explained on it engineering account.

You can access the feature by opting for “retweet with comment” when sharing a post on Twitter. A small blue bar will then prompt you to use the new options.

“Another update is coming soon to make Retweets with media more interactive and easier to read,” Twitter also noted.
