You can’t save contacts’ profile pics on WhatsApp’s latest iOS beta

If you’re using WhatsApp on an Apple device there are a few interesting if not flat-out inconvenient changes coming to the app.
As spotted on Thursday by WhatsApp sleuth WABetaInfo, the new version of the app (2.19.60.26) has removed the ability to copy, save or export your contacts’ profile pictures.
It seems that this is an actual tweak and not a bug, as it was removed from Android earlier this month.
“WhatsApp has already removed the same feature in the latest Android beta updates and in the WhatsApp Business beta for iOS 2.19.60.4 and 2.19.60.5 on TestFlight,” WABetaInfo explains on its blog.
Other changes are coming to iOS, including an audio format tweak from OPUS to M4A, as well as minor album UI improvements.
