Looks like you’ll be able to ‘theme’ WhatsApp’s upcoming dark mode
A report by WABetaInfo on Monday revealed new information about WhatsApp’s long-awaited dark mode for Android.
After spotting the feature in development in April, the publication found new updates to dark mode on WhatsApp’s latest Android version 2.19.282 beta.
Screenshots suggest that the app will feature a “Themes” menu in settings, where users can set mode their preferences.
With Dark Mode active, WhatsApp will go from white and green to hues of dark blue. Users can also set the “system default” option to have the app automatically follow the theme of their device’s settings too.
Unfortunately, with WhatsApp still developing the feature, a release date can not yet be confirmed.
The company, however, is also reportedly testing a “disappearing messages” feature for conversations on its platform as well.
