Watch the first episode of The One Rand Family
Sanlam has released the first video for the sequel to its multi-award winning One Rand Man series. After tweeting out a teaser image last week, the financial management company has unveiled The One Rand Family.
The family of four is made up of Sbu (the father), Londiwe (the mother), Njabulo (the entrepreneurial son), and Anaya (the infant) child and, by all appearances, are incredibly wealthy.
Like their predecessor, they have to survive an entire month using only one rand coins (although with both parents working in high level jobs, the pile seems considerably larger). Also like their predecessor, they have to turn off their internet banking and and lock up their credit cards.

As well as regular YouTube episodes, people can follow the One Rand Family on the campaign website, as well as on Twitter and Instagram.
The original One Rand Man campaign won serious plaudits and was so well received that Sanlam decided to turn the experiment into a documentary.
The idea was to make the documentary, which comprises footage from the campaign interspersed with insights and observations by Sanlam and other experts, as well as documentation on the lessons learned during the experiment, available to schools, as well as financial advisers who want to educate their clients.
