6 terrible, terrible places to use Pokemon Go Lures
One of the coolest Pokemon Go-related things we’ve seen are businesses using the lure module item to attract people to their premises. The item attracts rare Pokemon to the area for a period of time, allowing players to catch them in the process.
Let’s face it though: there are some businesses and premises that shouldn’t use these items — we picked a few.
Adult stores
No matter your opinion on sex shops, placing a Lure Module to attract customers to Adult World might just result in some under-age people wondering into the store. Not exactly legal.
Or imagine the conversation when a child tries dragging their parent to the store to catch Pokemon. Awkward…
Schools
This is pretty self-explanatory. After all, shifty-looking adults at schools are looked down upon. Especially if they’re unintentionally holding their phone up at a group of schoolkids. Dodgy.
Highways
We’ve already seen car accidents take place as a result of rare Pokemon being found near busy roads. So imagine the potential for disaster if you placed a lure module on the N1…
Another similarly dangerous area for lures would be intersections, especially when players have been knocked down in general already.
Movie theatres
Placing a lure smack dab in the middle of a movie theatre is another awful idea when you think about it.
It’s already tough having to deal with people using their phones in cinemas as is, nevermind when there’s a Charizard to be had.
Cemeteries
We’ve already seen a US cemetery take to Twitter to tell people not to play Pokemon Go on its premises. So we’d certainly say placing a Lure Module in a cemetery is a bad idea then.
Placing a Lure Module at a funeral is probably just as bad though. Crematoriums, on the other hand — how else are you going to get Magmar?
Places of worship
Sure, many Poke Stops and Gyms are churches, but placing a Lure Module at a place of worship is just inviting more tomfoolery.
Actually, now that I think about it, a Lure Module might just be an interesting way to recruit new followers to your religion… Or maybe it just invites awkward people to interrupt your sermon…
