Videos of little girl robbing women in Cape Town goes viral on Facebook
Two videos of a little girl coerced into stealing items from shoppers’ handbags in Cape Town have gone viral on Facebook.
Published on 19 October by Facebook user Tyron-Nicklaus Norman, the two clips have since accumulated a combined 1.6-million views with an additional 21 000 shares.
In the post, Norman explains the circumstances of the second video in which his wife was a victim.
“Hi everyone, My wife was a victim of pick pocketing this evening. The part that is most sickening is that it was a little girl that did it,” he writes.
“She was being forced by a grown up woman to commit crime. I will be showing you two videos where you can see the Woman nudging the child, to go into other Woman’s purses and relieve them of their Smartphones.”
The two incidents took place in Spar and Pick N Pay in Parklands, near the Cape Town suburb of Table View.
“PLEASE PLEASE SHARE THIS… I think the little girl needs to get help before she is further corrupted by these criminal/s,” Norman concludes.
According to News24, a case has been opened by Norman at the Table View SAPS, but no arrests have been made as yet.

“The phone it’s self doesn’t really upset us that much… SA after all. But forcing the child to do your dirty work….. That enrages me beyond belief,” Norman added in a subsequent Facebook comment.
Other commenters shared his sentiment.
“This is so sad. I feel sad for the families whom are victims of these crimes and I feel heartbroken for the little girl who obviously has been subjected to this lifestyle by her mother/aunt or who ever she is,” one user wrote
“It’s heartbreaking really that people have to resort to this kind of thing in order to survive.”
