Google Assistant update displays more meaningful info at a glance
Google’s latest update to Assistant on Android will allow the app to present more meaningful information at a glance, with necessary information displayed more prominently.
“In addition to a new interface for categories like events, you’ll also get access to useful tools like the tip calculator, metronome music pacer and bubble level,” the company explains on its blog.
In a series of screenshots, the company reveals several examples of the new update.
Search results now appear as a list of scrollable cards while events are displayed with relevant information and pictures in prominence. Some questions are also answered using images and inforgraphics, where applicable.
This deviates from the usual text-heavy search results from the Assistant, and makes for an easier read.
Google further notes that the Assistant will still provide traditional search results when required, along with ads.
The update has already begun rolling out to all Android devices.
