Facebook will stop preinstalling its apps on Huawei devices
A report by Reuters on Friday revealed that Facebook has suspended pre-installation of its mobile apps on Huawei devices.
This means that Huawei phones will not have the company’s social media apps already installed when purchased.
The suspension applies to Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram and will affect devices that have not yet been shipped.
It’s understood that these apps will be still be available for Huawei users to manually download via the Google Play Store.
The news comes after Huawei was banned from trading with companies in the United States.
Facebook now joins the likes of Google and ARM in ceasing its partnership with the Chinese firm.
Facebook has not confirmed the suspension.
