Microsoft’s OneDrive Personal Vault is rolling out worldwide
Microsoft on Monday announced the worldwide rollout of its Personal Vault on OneDrive, a feature previously exclusive to Canada, New Zealand and Australia.
The Personal Vault is a protected space on OneDrive, where users can employ “strong authentication methods” such as PIN, fingerprint or face unlock to store their files.
Users can directly store scanned documents or photos from smart devices on Personal Vault as well. The vault also locks automatically and does not support file sharing for added security.
“On Windows 10 PCs, OneDrive automatically syncs your Personal Vault files to a BitLocker-encrypted area of your local hard drive,” Microsoft said on its blog.
The company, which first revealed Personal Vault in June, also announced new OneDrive storage options for Office 365 customers and OneDrive dark mode support for iOS 13.
