Getac’s F110 rugged Windows tablet launches, is apocalypse compatible

Getac, who is known for creating rugged tech products for “demanding” environments, has just launched the F110 — an 11″ Windows tablet “built to survive harsh terrain.”

Underneath the 1366×768 11.6″ display, you’ll find Intel’s 4th gen Core I7 vPro CPU together with Intel’s HD Graphics 4400. Furthermore, it has either an impressive 128GB or 256GB SSDs with 4GB RAM.

It has an optional HD webcam on the front and a 5MP camera at the back. It has a USB 3.0 port, headphone jack and a HDMI slot. You can even customize the ports to fit in an Ethernet port or a microSD slot.

It’s less than 1″ thick and weighs about 136g but the design feature that makes it suitable for apocalyptic scenarios, is the fact that it’s been MIL-STD 810G tested by the US military.

Its design is said to protect itself against all things apocalyptic such as drops, shocks, spills vibration, dust, liquid and so forth.

The tablet is designed for the more outdoorsy types and is optimized to provide connectivity “anywhere from the high mountains to the rough seas”. The F110 has a 4G antenna and can connect high-gain GPS with over twice as much search capacity as its competitors.

It has two removable 2160mAH batteries that is said to last more than 12 hours and can be swapped on-the-go without the need to power the tablet down.
