If you’ve played video games for any amount of time, chances are you’ve either played or heard of role-playing games (RPGs). These titles usually involve over 50 hours of gameplay, character development, and constant battles. They’re like real life, but fun.
Listicle YouTube channel WatchMojo.com has put together a list of what it considers to be the best RPG franchises. These titles include a range of genres from JRPGs, such as Final Fantasy, to Western RPGs, like The Elder Scrolls. Strangely missing from the list are Tactical RPGs, such as Disgaea and Front Mission.
It’s surprising to find the Shin Megami Tensei series included in a list like this as it’s not as mainstream as the other entries on the list. The narrator even makes mention that the entry is about Shin Megami and not its spin-off series, Persona.
