Star Trek Online is warping onto PS4, Xbox One soon

For those of you who want to boldly go where no man (read: console player) has gone before, Star Trek Online is heading to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The console port will include six years’ worth of content from patches to content updates, as well as 130 featured episodes. Players can choose to be part of the Federation, Klingon, or Romulan factions.

The control scheme has also been redefined for console controllers, which will make away missions and space battles easier to handle.

Star Trek Online takes place thirty years after the events of Star Trek Nemesis (which was a good movie, IMO) and features voice cast from the TV shows, such as Ethan Phillips (Neelix), Robert Picardo (The Doctor), and Jeri Ryan (Seven of Nine).

The game initially launched in 2010, but later relaunched in 2012 with a free-to-play model.

Expect the game to launch this Spring (southern hemisphere) or Autumn (northern hemisphere).
