At least one of the Pixel 2 models will have squeezable edges
Google’s Pixel 2 smartphones are still a while away, but we’ve already seen images leak as well as other details. Now, official documents filed by HTC have revealed even more information.
The documents (spotted by redditors) show that at least one of the Pixel models will have squeezable edges.
“Active Edge on, squeeze for your Assistant,” reads an excerpt from a screenshot in the FCC filing.
The screenshots also show that the phone is running Android 8.0.1 and the Snapdragon 835 (MSM8998) processor.
It wouldn’t be the first time that the Taiwanese brand added squeezable edges to a phone, with the U11, released earlier this year, packing this functionality.
The function allowed users to essentially use a phone squeeze as a customisable shortcut of sorts, such as a short squeeze for WhatsApp or a double squeeze for the camera. HTC even allowed users to adjust the sensitivity of the gesture, in order to prevent accidental squeezes.
It’s believed that HTC is making one Pixel model, while LG is making a second model.
