Steam has generally been one of the better gaming platforms when it comes to gift support, allowing users to buy titles for loved ones.
We’ve also seen gift cards at retailers, but what if you’d prefer a digital version? Fortunately, the Valve-owned storefront has listened, launching digital gift cards this week.
“Steam Digital Gift Cards make it fast and easy to send your friends Steam Wallet funds toward the purchase of anything on Steam, from software to hardware, including games and in-game items,” the company wrote on its website.
Fortunately, the functionality is also available in South Africa, featuring denominations of R60, R120, R300, R600 and R1200.
As for restrictions, you and the recipient/gift-giver need to be friends on Steam for at least three days. And if your friend lives in another country? No sweat, as the gift will be converted to the recipient’s currency.
