There’s a brand new BlackBerry in town. Well, if you’re in India, that is.

The Evolve and the Evolve X are the two latest devices from the company that rock Android but lack a physical keyboard. But physically, both phones are pretty similar.

For one, both phones sport a 5.99-inch 2160×1080 display, a USB-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Both also feature a 4000mAh battery and both boast the same selfie camera: a 16MP sensor with a f/2.0 aperture.

Both phones support face unlock too and both run Android 8.1 Oreo.

There are some slight tweaks though internally.

For one, the standard Evolve uses a Qualcomm Snadragon 450 chipset, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage with microSD card support.

It also has a pair of 13MP cameras at the rear — one with a monochrome sensor, and another with a colour sensor. Both have apertures of f/2.0.

The Evolve also lacks wireless charging.

The Evolve X on the other hand supports wireless charging, boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 and 6GB of RAM. It too has 64GB of storage with microSD card support.

Notably, its rear cameras are tweaked slightly too.

There’s a 12MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture, and a secondary telephoto lens camera with a f/2.6 aperture and a 13MP sensor.

No South African launch date has been announced just yet, but in India, the phones will retail at around US$365 and US$510 directly converted from Rupees to US Dollars.
