HMD Global’s Nokia 6.2 arrives in South Africa for R3899
The Nokia 6.2 will soon be available in South Africa.
The mid-range phone, which “brings HDR entertainment and advanced imaging” to SA customers, was among the devices HMD Global announced in September.
It sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD with 2280×1080 resolution. Internally, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636, with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB storage versions will not be offered in SA, but the dual SIM version will be.
There’s also a microSD card slot for those who want to expand that figure.
At the rear, there’s a triple camera array. HMD Global really talks up this phone’s imaging credentials in its marketing material.
“In another first, Nokia 6.2 lets fans experience powerful photography with an advanced triple camera setup that delivers detailed images, beautifully blurred bokeh portraits and wide enough shots that capture everything you want to,” the company notes.
The array consists of a 16MP primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and 27mm lens. It also sports phase-detection autofocus. There’s also an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, and a 5MP depth sensor.
Up front, there’s an 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera.
Also included is a 3500mAh battery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a USB-C port for charging and data, and support for WiFi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0. A rear fingerprint sensor, and NFC support also feature.
The phone will launch with Android 9.0 Pie, but HMD Global does note the phone is “Android Q ready”. It’s not clear when it’ll receive the update, though.
The Nokia 6.2 will be available in “Ice” and as an exclusive to TFG customers for R3899. It’ll be available from 7 November.
